Real Love

"Girls, do not let the guy lift the veil of your body before he lifts the veil on your head--in marriage." - Jason Evert

I have never heard of Jason Evert before, but when my sister Chat posted about him around 2 or 3 weeks ago with this quote, I immediately looked him up and fell in love with him.  He is an international speaker who goes around the world to share what real love is all about.  Real love that is based on the Word.

Many of us think we know what LOVE is.  We say we feel it and we believe it when it's there.  But once we don't feel it anymore, we are quick to conclude, "I don't love him/her anymore."  This is why there are so many broken hearts, and even souls, because we have the wrong perceptions of what love is.  Especially in the youth today, when they feel they're "in love", they easily give in to their emotions, including their lusts for the flesh.  And we think it's okay because this is what we see on TV, Internet, and basically everywhere.  But is this real love?  Does real love allow our honor and dignity to be stained?  I don't think so.

I've had mistakes in my youth, yes.  I think a lot of us have, but I will do anything and everything for my girls Caitlin and Elise (and future children) to keep themselves pure until they get married.  They deserve a man who will truly value and respect them.  One who will not prioritize their wants, but one who will honor what is right and pure.  I'm not saying that I did THAT before I got married, but one should remember that purity does not just talk about keeping your virginity.  Purity is having pure thoughts and pure acts in everything.

I like what Jason and his wife Crystalina wrote in their book, "How to Find Your Soulmate Without Losing Your Soul",

If you want a true man, you need to know what one looks like.  For starters, a guy cannot be considered a man unless he treats a woman with dignity.  When a boy learns how to forget himself for the good of another, he becomes a man.  This transition does not occur at puberty; it comes when he learns the meaning of sacrifice.  As you can imagine, walking hormone guys are locked into a mentality of using instead of loving.  For this reason, stay far away from them.  Instead of wasting your time on guys who see your purity as a problem or neurotic condition, hold out for a guy who values you for more than your body.
This is my desire for my girls.  They deserve nothing less.  And with the way things are going in society today -- people pressing on for the RH Bill, promoting pre-marital sex, divorce and homosexuality, and all these other things, I am praying hard for my girls to grow up with the mindset that true love is worth waiting for.

And so, I wish all youth can attend this life-changing event in September!  Jason and Crystalina Evert themselves will talk about REAL LOVE.

29th at Stotsenberg

I celebrated my 29th with water and sunshine with the family at Hotel Stotsenberg at Clark, Pampanga.  My aunt fortunately got us a free overnight stay and we grabbed the chance.  Celebrating your birthday at a hotel couldn't go wrong, and it was something special for the family because it's a break from always having company at home.

So we headed to NLEX after church on June 23, that was about lunch time.  Just me, my hubby, and the two kiddos.  We got there at around 3pm, I think, and got to our room a little before 4pm.  Caitlin was excited to be in a new place, going around the room as soon as we got there, even trying on the telephone.  Elise was doing the same, too!

We wanted to make the most out of it by taking a dip in the pool, but the girls both fell asleep and so the husband and I ended up staying in the room and watching The Avengers on TV.  Haha!  Our relatives came at around 7pm, since they live nearby.  Elise was still sound asleep, and I even had to wake her up just so we could go out and eat.

We just had a simple dinner at McDonald's because it was the only restaurant open in Clark Freeport Zone that time.  The girls had their very first Happy Meal since I wanted them to get the free minion toys.  Ahehe.  Oh, and they had fans... noisy and happy Korean girl fans who kept on playing with Caitlin and Elise, even taking their pictures with them.  A Korean fan base for an infant and a toddler--not bad, eh?

The following day was my birthday!  Yipee.  We decided to wake up early so we can get an early morning swim.  Besides, Caitlin has been itching to go "miming" since the night before.  Although we didn't get to swim right away because Mama and Lem called from the US, that was fine.  When we got to the pool, it was so inviting, perfectly matched with sunshine!  I was especially happy because the kids were happy.  Sounds cheesy, but it couldn't be any truer than that.

Loving the weather!

Caitlin and her fondness for water... even water hoses

Wanted to have a picture with Caitlin, but nothing could stop her from playing with that hose

Tanned? Hehe
Caitlin didn't want to stop "miming", but then, she already had a dark tan line.  Haha her first tan line, by the way!  And so we took a shower, and she fell asleep... as in she dozed off... as in TKO!

Sleeping like a log

We bid farewell to Stotsenberg then.  It was not an extravagant 5-star hotel, but it gave us a good, relaxing, and steady weekend with the family.  Thank you.

A Post-Father's Day Post

It's been a few days days since Father's Day, I know, but I suddenly felt the urge to write something about my father.  And as a comeback to my blog, I think it's just but right to welcome myself back to blogging by making him a tribute through this post.

Cutie-patootie
I have blurred memories of my father when I was a baby (because really, how can a baby remember?), but from the stories I've heard, Papa has always been the loving and concerned Papa that he still is.  At night until the wee hours of the morning, he was the one who got up to change my lampin, or cloth diapers (which means changing almost every hour).  I could imagine his fat fingers trying to wrap the lampin and managing to pin it together in the dark.

I was bottle-fed and I was a fat baby. My baby pictures serve as proof that I was quite on the big side.  When I was already 6 years old, I was still drinking from the bottle.  My Auntie, being the mean and kontrabida auntie that she was (I love you, Auntie Ana!), schemed to get all my bottles and throw them out into our garden where our dogs stayed (and did their number twos).  It must have been hell for me losing all my bottles.  Papa got so angry.

As I got older, I have clearer memories of Papa.  I remember one time when he asked all of us, his children, to go to the bed and lie on our tummies because we were going to be "disciplined" for something we did (probably one of those times when my kuya Lem played with the water, or my kuya Sey initiated a game involving fire).  One by one, he hit each of my sibling's bottoms with his belt, and as it was coming close to my turn, I suddenly jumped up to him to hug him.  Of course, he hugged back and refused to hit me anymore.  I remember my two brothers and sister giggling when that happened.

Old school
Papa and Mama were both very hardworking.  They were office people, with meetings here and there.  It doesn't sound ideal, but I don't remember complaining how that they're never available, just as a typical child would if they had parents who were always out of the house because of work.  Maybe because they made sure that on weekends, we would have bonding time with them.  We had outings, trips to the province, ate out, etc.  They pretty much tried to make up for the time they lost with us during the week.

We were a happy family, and not to mention, we were quite blessed financially and materially, too.  We all studied in exclusive schools, had at least 2 vehicles, had a family driver, always had our pantries full, and had the means to buy what we wanted.  Papa was a very good provider, but taught us to remain humble and commit to the church.  He became part of the church clergy and was ordained deacon.  Even in his busy schedules, he strove to attend to his duties as a deacon of the church.  He showed us that without God, everything would be in vain.  And so even in our somehow financially-blessed life, we learned to acknowledge God as the Source of everything.

Classic family pic -- those were the days
Growing up, I remember admiring Papa for being a loving husband to our Mama and a sweet father to us.  I remember clearly how I prayed and hoped for a future husband just like Papa.  Of course, he isn't perfect.  Storms came and our family experienced a whole bunch of trials.  Many have said that could Papa have made wiser decisions in the past, we wouldn't have gone through all those.  I honestly think that mistakes could have been avoided, but I couldn't bring myself to point fingers at Papa.  Right from the beginning, he has always wanted the best for the family.

Because of certain circumstances, we started to struggle financially.  Our pantries were no longer full, eating out became a rare thing, and we only had 1 vehicle to use, which was even a company car provided for Papa.  There was even a time when we had to commute with Papa--ride the train and jeepney going home.  I don't think I will ever forget the expression on Papa's face from the time we bought a ticket at the MRT station to the time when we were walking home after going down the jeepney.  He was smiling the whole time, but I knew that deep inside, he was so embarrassed that his children, who used to be hatid-sundo with matching drivers and expensive cars, were now commuting with him.

Still, he continued to strive.  He found ways to bring food to our table and make ends meet.  From a recognized owner of a thriving insurance agency, he became an insurance agent again, starting again almost from the beginning.  Because of his naturally happy and sociable disposition, he still got in touch with fellow colleagues who helped him get back up again somehow.  I very well knew that he wanted to bring back the life that we had before.  He wanted to be financially secure again.  He wanted to get back on top again.  I knew why, and it wasn't for selfish reasons.  He was doing everything for the family.  He always talked about buying a home so that when Mama, Lem, and Sey would come home from the States, they would have a place to stay.  He also always talked about establishing our own family business so that he could have a business to pass on to us, his children.  It was always about us.

One of Papa's sleeping sessions with his grandchild
Yes, he made mistakes here and there.  A lot of them.  Over and over again.  But who doesn't make mistakes?  Papa went through a lot of bumps on the road.  A lot of them, too.  Over and over again.  But he just kept on moving along, trying to make things better for the family, and always with a smile on his face.  Small things that he did for us such as picking me up from a dinner out with friends (includes having to wait for us to finish), taking the grandchildren to the park on an early Saturday morning, putting his grandchildren to sleep, buying us pan de sal almost everyday -- he did all of these things to show bits and pieces of his love for us, assuring us that he is and will always be here for us.  They may be small and not so extravagant, but looking back at them now, they were big on love.  Papa did everything for us with so much heart.

The father of the bride
I could go on and on and on about Papa.  I could talk about his failures, yes, because he does have them, just like everyone else.  But I choose to look beyond them and see how he has lived his life to show his love for us, his family -- how he has always been there for me, even for my growing family.  How he guided me in my dalaginding days, to walking me down the aisle, to driving me to the hospital when I started to labor, up to putting my first child to sleep (even when he was also sleepy).  Ever-patient, reliable in so many ways, readily makes himself available, that's our Papa.  Our loving and lovable
Papa.

Since he left for the US in November 2011, life has been different.  I miss him everyday.  I am looking forward to the time when we can be together again, along with my children, and continue to realize how blessed we are to have a Papa Chito in our lives.

On Finding My Greatest Treasure

A lawyer at a top law firm.  A writer for a famous publication in New York.  A preschool owner of a school located in a high-end subdivision.—No, I am not talking about myself here; although I somehow wish I were!  These are what many of my friends have become now.  They have achieved so much in their career, that sometimes I couldn’t help but ask myself, “Had I taken a different path years ago, would I be as successful?”
My life

I am a full-time wife to a deacon and a mother to two daughters.  Every day, I deal with preparing coffee for my husband, cleaning up my toddler’s mess, changing my 5 month old’s soiled diapers, and more.  Not very sophisticated, I know, and it could even be sometimes frustrating.  There are moments when I wish I could spend my days meeting clients at Starbucks, spending my salary on those oh-so-lovely 4-inch stilettos, or taking a side trip to Boracay with the barkada, just like what my friends are doing.

But then again, there are more moments when I realize how blessed I am for the life I have now.  Seeing my baby’s toothless ear-to-ear smiles, watching my toddler do things on her own such as putting her dirty clothes in the hamper, and hearing my husband say, “You’re so beautiful!”—all of these are incomparable to anything in this world, not even to a trip to Paris!  Having married a God-fearing husband and being blessed with two beautiful daughters, I realize what I have achieved.  And I can say that I have achieved much.  My family is my greatest treasure.

This ministry of marriage and motherhood is never an easy feat, but it is an anointed calling.  I may not be a big-time business tycoon or a famous celebrity as the world identifies “successful” to be, but I couldn’t thank God enough for transforming me into a wife and a mother who desires nothing but the best for her family.  Still a long way to go, I know, but because God has called me into this ministry, I know that He will provide all the love, faith, and patience I need to be the best wife and mother I can be.

Elise is almost 6 months old!

This cutie's turning 6 months on March 9!
Our lovely Elise is turning 6 months old in just a couple of weeks!  I can't believe how time just flies like that.  I literally stand in awe of her whenever she's on her tummy, trying to crawl her way to her toys.  She used to be so teeny-tiny, and now she's so big and pudgy already!

Because her 6th month is her half birthday, I'm planning to prepare a mini celebration for her.  What I have in mind right now is a half birthday cake!

Literally a half cake!
I might cook some pasta, too, and prepare other foods she can start eating!  Hello, solids! :)

The Beauty of Giving Birth Naturally

Yes, it's been months since my last post, but instead of explaining why I haven't blogged for quite some time, let me just share my life at present.

So I gave birth last September 9 to a beautiful baby girl at 5:05am in the morning at the Birthing Clinic of the Cathedral of the King.  It was around 1am, early Sunday morning, when I felt like going to the bathroom to make #2.  I felt constipated but got through it anyway after a few attempts.  Right after that, I felt a heavy pressure on my lower back--something very similar to what I felt when I went into labor with Caitlin.  I told my husband, "Hon, parang malapit na ako.  I'm feeling what I felt with Caitlin last year."  So we went back to bed, and because Caitlin woke up, I nursed her lying down.  I was feeling contractions already getting stronger by the minute.  I suddenly felt the urge to stand up, then I felt something trickling down my legs.  I couldn't see what it was because it was dark.  When my husband turned on the light, it was blood!  The contractions were very strong then and so we called Mama Chato right away.  She told  us to prepare already and she will see us at the birthing clinic.  We got there at 2:30am...

Many thanks to Mama Chato Flores, a registered midwife, for her anointing!  It was my first time to give birth naturally... as in no medicine, no anesthesia, nothing at all!  Just God's grace and favor upon me and my baby.  I couldn't thank my husband, Mon, even more, for being there with me all the way.  I couldn't have done it without his strength guiding me and supporting me.

Yep, that's me and Catherine Elise just minutes after giving birth.  Such an ecstatic feeling I had at this time--yes, there was pain, but the beauty of seeing your baby and getting to hold her right away is incomparable to anything else in this world!

That's our Catherine Elise!  All glory to God! :)

Getting Busy with My New JOB

I have been very busy lately with writing--obviously not in this blog, but for my new job.  Or should I say, "jobs".  I have gotten myself into oDesk for the past two weeks or so, and have landed on new jobs.
oDesk is a marketplace site for contractors and employers.  Usually short-term work, freelancers are best for the jobs posted by employers.  As a contractor, you must create your own profile, take some oDesk readiness tests (such as U.S. English skills tests, etc.), which will be posted on your profile for employers to see.  You can find jobs that suit you and your skills.  In my case, skills that I posted are more on writing and blogging.  You can either find jobs and apply, or employers themselves can find you and if they think you have the potential, they can ask for an interview from you directly.

It's amazing because in just a matter of days, I was able to land on a number of jobs already, and even got interviews.  I have been writing for 2 steady employers now about a variety of topics--from online dating to window tinting to menopause.  I've been learning a lot from it, and I'm actually enjoying it.  Besides, I get paid for it, too.  As a starter, I've already earned almost $20 in two weeks.  Of course that's still a bit small because I have not had the chance to write regularly yet.  I'm still mastering the art of writing in between Caitlin's baby naps.  But it will increase soon--hopefully!

The Surprise Breakfast Meeting

This week has been quite special for me because I got to go out of the house at least three times!  Yey!  Before you think I'm a loser, here are a few valid reasons why I almost never go out:
  1. I am pregnant with baby #2 and I was advised by my midwife to lessen activities (that obviously includes outdoor activities).
  2. I have a 6-month old baby, which makes it less easy for me to go to some place any time I want.
  3. I am a work-from-home mom.
So before I sound defensive, I'll end there.  But they do sound valid, don't they?

Anyways, I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day.  While my husband and I never really celebrated it, it was quite special this year.  Well, he made it special. :)

Last Monday night, he told me that he will be having an early breakfast meeting at BGC with his former classmate.  He even told me how bizarre it was for him to meet this old classmate of his at our favorite supermarket--of all places.  His name was Rommel Diaz, a rich entrepreneur who used to live in Caloocan but moved to Pasig with his family; and now he's interested in Mon's business, and so the breakfast meeting.

I was excited for him and he told me that Caitlin and I should come along because he wants to introduce us to this Rommel guy.  And so I agreed.  Leave at 7am to meet old classmate at BGC at 8am.

Well, that night, Caitlin didn't let us sleep until 4am.  No need to go into detail, but that's pretty much what happened.  We woke up at about 9am already--so much for our original plan.  Well, Rommel didn't text yet anyway so I thought it was okay.  We left at about 10:15am already and headed to BGC.  Mon said Rommel was on his way.

I was starving by then and I was picturing a hearty breakfast meal.  That's the time Mon said, "Krispy Kreme daw."  Uh-oh.  I wasn't up for any sweets then; in fact, I did not want to eat any sweets that time.  I wanted eggs, chicken, sausages, rice--something like that.

And so we were walking already to Bonifacio High Street when he led me to the direction away from Krispy Kreme.  I knew he was up to something by then.  Well, turns out, it was a surprise breakfast meeting with me at Pancake House.  Aww.

Might sound too simple, but these are the reasons why the surprise made me extra happy that day:
  1. My husband has not surprised me in a loooong time.  I think the last one was on my birthday in 2007.
  2. He despises Pancake House.  0% chance--of all the many times I have asked him for us to eat there.
Well, I ordered my favorites: Pan-fried chicken and Best Taco in Town!  Definitely a hearty breakfast with my hubby and baby! :)

Too bad we weren't able to bring the camera!

Finding the stage mommy in me

Okay, I have to admit that I've been searching for local photo contests where I can join Caitlin.  Teehee.  She just has so many cute photos!  Although I honestly think she's more beautiful in person than in pictures, it's a thrill for me, as a first-time mommy, to involve her in these local promos.  Not really up for the prizes (yeah, right), but it's quite exciting.

So I actually found one photo contest by Babies and Hairbows. It's actually strange because the owner announced a contest without fixed policies, criteria, and anything you need to know about a promo.  At first she just asked mommies to submit photos of their babies 0-2 years old for her contest, "CUTEST baby photo." She just asked them to put their names and birthdates.  I think she got overwhelmed with all the entries because she got lots of them (naturally).  So she announced that the entries must have a description, like "Why should your baby win this contest?" and "What does your baby like to do?".  It's just funny because I felt her panic through her posts.  Hehe.  I don't even know how she's going to choose the winner because she doesn't have a fixed criteria!  Oh well.  At least I know now how to launch a contest if I ever have to launch one in the future.  :p

But anyhoo, of course I joined.  It's the stage mommy in me!  Here's my entry and a description of my cutiepie and skidamarink, Laura Caitlin :)

"Hello All! My name is Laura Caitlin EspiƱa, daughter to Daddy Sol and Mommy Lala, and definitely one of God's precious children.
One Sunday morning, I felt the need to push myself out of Mommy's tummy. I knew it was not yet time because I was still too little and I could hear Dad and Mom telling me from outside, "Baby, please stay there. It's not yet time for you to come out...". But then, I surprised them on August 1, 2011 when I came out as a 31-weeker baby. They said I was premature.

I didn't see Daddy and Mommy right away because I was put in a capsule-like container with lights and so many other things. It felt warm like when I was inside Mom's tummy, but it was still different. I missed hearing Mommy's voice just right above me. I could only hear voices of people I didn't know, saying they had to put tubes in my nose and in my lungs so I could breathe well; and so they did. After a few hours, I heard the sweetest voices ever--I heard Daddy and Mommy talking right beside me! And what's more, I felt something touching my little toes and caressing my chest. Mommy was saying, "Ang tangos ng ilong niya!" It was the loveliest feeling.

Days and weeks passed, and I was still in that capsule-like container (I think they call it an incubator). Although Dad and Mom couldn't be with me round the clock because of hospital policies, they still visited me everyday. My favorite time of the day would be when Mommy would come and sing to me and read to me my favorite Psalm 139. I would blush every time she would remind me that I am "fearfully and wonderfully made...". Everyday. Even in that cold hospital room, I felt very much loved.

It has been a long journey but as Dad and Mom would always tell me, God has been really faithful. The day came when I was finally home. No more incubator, no more tubes, none of those anymore. I found myself in the arms of my Mom and Dad--no, not just for a few minutes, but every minute and every hour. Now, this was the loveliest and most incredible feeling. I am truly blessed.

I guess I'm growing everyday because my clothes won't fit anymore! It's such a happy feeling to wake up everyday and put smiles on my Dad and Mom's faces. I thank the Lord for blessing me with a wonderful family who has never failed to make me feel loved, and who has never failed to remind me that even if I'm a preemie, I am still "fearfully and wonderfully made"."

Not forcing you to vote for her, but if you think our Caitlin could be the cutest baby, please click here and like away! :)

Enjoying the wonders of Photoshop

Photoshop has been a household name now for magically adding, editing, deleting--basically it can transform any photo to something unbelievable.  Like, let's say, this...
Yes, this is Charice Pempengco. As in the one who always wears a weird-looking hat.
Isn't Photoshop amazing?  Apparently, I don't use it for THAT purpose.  I've been going back to designing lately.  Not anything major, but I just really enjoy putting fonts and colors together, then adding a bit of this and that... and voila!  I've been recently asked by a churchmate who bakes and sells her own pastries to create her logo for her sweet business, called "Sweet Tooth" (FYI, she is a dentist), and this is what I initially came up with (with the help of Adobe Illustrator):
She liked it, but she had this other idea, so she sketched it and I just did the exact same thing:
Okay, I'm starting to sound really boring. But if you do have current cravings for sweets such as cream cheese brownies (drool...), profiteroles, blueberry cheesecakes, and a whole lot more, feel free to contact her. :)

The desire to blog. Seriously.

I have not blogged for a while now.  Have not been writing in any of my journals, either.  Since I gave birth last August 1, everything has changed.  I've been wanting to write about that experience but I never made time for it.  Yes, I have attempted to, but it stopped at the part when my midwife, Mama Chato, was checking me at the birthing clinic (the morning after I felt the reeeeaaaally painful contractions).

So now, this is the first step.  I am writing again.  Not just because I really miss it, but because I really need it.  With everything that's been happening in my wonderful life now, they deserve to be written down beautifully and preserved forever (technology, please don't fail me).

Aside from that, in my younger days, writing has always been my passion.  I've always imagined myself to be that person who would write anything and everything under the sun.  But I fail a lot of times.  Hehe.  This is the reason why I have a bunch of diaries and journals since I was a little girl.  My first ones were all regularly and consistently updated.  I wrote EVERY DAY.  Can you believe it?  Now, my most recent ones start with June 14, 2006 then the next entry would be August 28, 2006, then the next would be, May 6, 2007.  And each entry always started with a "Sorry I have not been writing for a long time...".  Well, there's a hint of exaggeration there, but you know what I mean.  If you would notice, even this blog has that.  Try looking for that similar line in one of the articles and let me know. ;)

But this time, I am challenging myself!  I want to be more productive now, and that includes writing and blogging.  In a large way, I want my kiddos to learn how beautiful and fun it is to write.  Because it is fun!  Even the mental blocks are fun (I use those blocks to say to myself, "Okay, I can't think of anything else to write yet, so maybe I'll just play a game first...").

Writing, please welcome me in your arms again!

A Lot Has Happened

Just like any of my old blogs, here I am posting a new blog post after 10,000 years.  I see that my last post was when I announced to the whole world that I have a baby bump (even exposing a photo of my positive pregnancy test, which I didn't realize grossed some people out)... now, my baby's finally out!

Baby's on the Way!

Had to do a "double-look" to check if I was just seeing double

February 5, 2011. Woke up lazily on a Saturday morning. Husband was not around because of Men's Mass in church. Was thinking of the things to do on that day... eat breakfast, cook lunch, transcribe last Wednesday's homily... and oh yeah, use the pregnancy test I asked Mon to buy the night before.

Around 9am. Was in the bathroom and about to use the PT. The whole time, I was just thinking, "Okay, here we go again..."--thinking that it would be just like the previous times I've tested. So there, I don't think I have to put into detail how I did the PT, but of course, I dropped my urine samples in the space provided. I was too eager that I put in about 6 drops (ideally, it should just be 2-3 drops) that it kind of just filled up the space and it wasn't moving to the test space. I was thinking, "Oh no, what did I do? Did I just waste P120?" (PTs are not cheap) So I had to tilt it to the right for it to come up with results.  At first glance, it was just one line. And I said to myself, "Yeah, just like the old times...", but then when I glanced again, I saw another line fading in.  I literally had to do a "double-look" to check if I was just seeing double.  Well, apparently, I was not.  The PT showed 2 of the most beautiful lines I have ever seen in my life.  I was finally pregnant!!!
I stormed out of the bathroom with tears in my eyes. When I went out, I had to go back in just to check if it's really 2 lines. I still could not believe it. Well, the two lines were definitely staying because God has fulfilled the desire of my heart to have a baby :)

I surprised my husband by wrapping the positive PT in special green paper, with a gold ribbon (leftovers from Christmas). I put a note on it: "For my dear and loving husband MON".  I changed the bedsheets and put the small present on top of 2 pillows, pretty sure that he wouldn't miss it.
When he got home, I just wanted to burst but I didn't want to spoil my surprise.  So he just went on blabbing about stuff in church and other matters, which really didn't register in my head because I was dwelling too much on the surprise.  So finally, he went up to the room to dress up. Yes excited I was. He stormed downstairs but with no reaction.  I'm guessing he missed it.  So I asked him to get something from upstairs that was close to the present. He hurried upstairs and went down bringing it, still with no reaction. So he missed it again. Darn.

I couldn't help it, so I asked him, "Hindi mo ba nakita yung gift ko sayo sa taas?" Then he said, "Ah para sakin ba yun?" HELLO! "Oo kaya! Letter yun eh!" I said that so he wouldn't assume that it was the PT.  So he stormed upstairs and after about 3-4 minutes, he went downstairs with that big smile on his face. He hugged me so tight and we were just there embracing each other, basking in God's faithfulness in our lives. I had tears in my eyes because I was just too happy.

Thank You, Lord. Indeed, God's promises are true. :)
